If you were to peek inside the production facilities of Lucky Snowboards you might see a lush, green valley flanked by glistening streams. Along the stream bed you might find some enthusiastic penguins wearing hard hats, a team of panda bears wearing eye protection and carrying large bundles of bamboo, and if you follow them long enough they end up at the head of the stream with The Source: a large whale half-embedded in a glowing ethereal doorway. The answer to your next question is YES, the whale manufactures snowboards using a combination of his digestive tract and inter-dimensional molecular shift. Now that the secret is out, good luck trying to recreate that production line.

In all seriousness Lucky Snowboards is a tremendous piece of the snowboard pie. Their efforts to manufacture green products within the industry are admirable and innovative. Invisible Creature requires no shameless promotion or pandering from us. What they're going to get is some bonafide adulation and hero worship, though. In the last 6 months DCS has made a targeted effort at connecting with clients we respect and admire to facilitate our own growth and evolution with the support of new blood. Our creative inspirations at IC are exactly that.

Massive changes are converging this month and next so we're making it our business to expand our visibility and change the way we live, work, and produce stickers. It's essential to galvanize our efforts with the confidence of returning clients.

Rounding out our plan of attack is a surgical strike on Scaly Creature, Undead Patchwork Creature, Bloodsucking Creature, Wolf-Like Man Creature, and Ceremonially Mummified Creature to secure an Unholy Clientele of the Night. Following that, we'll be in set in terms of finances and powers of darkness.

Invisible Creature | Start the Story

In the beginning … there was passion, manifested only as doodles in the margins of school text books. From very early in our childhood, we knew exactly what we wanted to do with our lives. This passion, though possibly unrealized at the time, was not altogether arbitrary. Our grandfather, Alfred Paulsen, had been an illustrator throughout his entire professional life- 28 years of which he spent at NASA. Additionally, our father devoted a good deal of his spare time in the home workshop, crafting perfectly executed woodworks in the form of furniture, toys and various other goods. The desire to create, and the potential to do it with precision and imagination, was simply engrained in us.

This quote comes from the Shawshank Redemption, a film about prison life and the triumph of hope and blah, blah, blah. It's a great flick, make no mistake, but what exactly is the W3 art collective doing dissecting it for their motto? For now, that remains secret. What we do know is that the W3 is the offspring of a few artists from West Seattle. Their combined experience in art direction and ties to the snowboarding industry have made them a powerful entity, with their first show creating a large crater dead in the middle of the Seattle art scene. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for new works and more events from these kids. It's going to get out of hand quickly and you'll be kicking yourself if you miss out.

Yep, it's true. Skullcandy + Rhapsody x (DCS) = Custom Headphones. As a reward to loyal and amazing Rhapsody employees, these headphones were cooked up to show some appreciation for a year's worth of hard work and effort in making Rhapsody International the best company it could be. DCS was called in to perform a little cosmetic surgery and apply these 2-color vinyl layovers to the Skullcandy "Agent."

Our swift and crafty production team laid down the vinyl just in time to hand out 150 pairs to eager recipients. The final product resulted in one of our most popular and unique projects to date. The applications of vinyl stickers go so far beyond that of stickers and this example says in a single image what we could never explain in words.

One of our biggest clients is also one of our most modest. In reality, due to certain restrictions DCS can't parade around the fact that we make stickers for Nike and their core sports teams. Complex marketing plans and key release dates prevent us from advertising, but in most cases that's a good thing. Opportunities like this are unique and we appreciate all the good fortune they bring us; it would be a shame to spoil such an opportunity. Occasionally we're able to share our relationship with Nike and it's always a joy.

We've seen many changes since starting our collaboration and now we're transitioning out of the 6.0 era and returning to a timeless classic. DCS is now a piece of punk rock history. Seminal act Moral Crux tapped us to create vinyl stickers via our connection to old friend and K2 Sports employee Jamie Jaspers. Many consider this band to be a key piece of musical puzzle when it comes to bridging the gap between the rebellious punk movement and pop music. The DCS team is no slouch when it comes to recognizing the significance of this even if our role is purely making vinyl stickers.

Moral Crux | The Origin

Moral Crux began it’s infancy in 1983 with James joining up with guitar player Jeff Jenkins to kick things off. James was in a cover band that played Clash, Sex Pistols and New York Dolls covers prior to Moral Crux, and there was a split in direction when James wanted to do more original material while some of the other members wanted to become more commercially acceptable.

James quit that band and then met Jeff who played guitar and was into a lot of the same music. They got together, wrote some songs and a revolution was soon born. Along the way they added drummer Jody Kimmell and renowned bass player Justin Warren.

Thriving in the west coast underground scene, and being featured regularly in countless magazines of the time including “Maximum Rock n’ Roll, Flipside, Music Connection and tons of other independent fanzines they soon became known as “pioneers” in their genre.

The 253 area code is ripe with amazing creative minds and passionate people making waves all around the sound. This particular group has a quirky origin and their continued evolution is an interesting to follow. At this point, 253 Heart is growing into a compelling partnership with various artists and generating money for local charities. DCS is excited to be working with 253 Heart and we can't wait to see which new paths they tread with their message of local pride and love.

I created the design while sketching some graffiti ideas on Christmas day 2007. I was sitting at the kitchen table in the house owned at that time by Oliver Doriss, so Tacoma hung thick in the air like the threat of snow. Uncle Eli was cooking up some crazy veggie spaghetti from the produce we had rescued from the dumpster at Stadium Thriftway. When I turned my page sideways, to my disbelief and delight, I saw a heart had been created in the odd way I had written our beloved area code. "DUCE-NICKLE-TRIZZLE", Oliver said.

It has made us want to go explore, go create, and go live.

In classic Mayan art, monkeys are both deviant and divine creatures. They play tricks and provide laughter. In contrast, they are hard workers and creative artists. To the Mayans, they represent both the seriousness and laughter in life.

While travelling in Central America today, one can't help but notice the howler monkeys that dangle from every branch along the beach. Our Howler, the little guy with the big smile, reminds us to take care of his planet, each other, and ourselves.

Hot on the heels of Thanksgiving weekend, Diecutstickers.com and clothing company Imperial Motion cooked up their own tasty social feast in the form of the 2nd Annual Stache Bash. Started as a celebration for those involved with fighting Prostate Cancer and raising money for Movember, the Bash got its big boy pants this year and became a full-fledged EVENT.

Bleach, Tacoma's premiere skate culture clothing store, was absolutely crammed to capacity with mustaches, men, women, and even children. With DJ Niros spinning, beer from E9 flowing, and mustaches all around everyone had an amazing time and proved that Movember is a cause that everyone can get behind.

Team DCS was out in full force, handing out limited-edition drink koozies and stickers, posing for paparazzi pictures, and even throwing down a bit on the dance floor. The culmination of a month long charity endeavor played out here and was a much needed positive book-end to Movember.

The First Annual Stache Bash was an infernal parade of hooligans justifying their absurd behavior by way of raising money for charity...

The Second Annual Stache Bash will be no different.

Movember, started as a fun way to raise awareness for men's health and battle Prostate Cancer, has evolved into a full fledged yearly competition. Men get to grow wicked facial hair and commit to become part of something larger than themselves, women get to support them and sport fake mustaches, and it's all for charity.

Bleach, Tacoma's legendary board shop, is the home to the annual Stache Bash which showcases and celebrates all that Movember is and was. With a mustache contest, photo booth, drinks, friends and good times abound the Stache Bash is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated events of Movember.

As the month rapidly comes to a close, it's time once again to converge and join together in hairy harmony. Friday, Novmeber 25th is the day it all goes down. From 7-9pm we'll all be doing our part to share the memories of another successful month raising money and raising eyebrows.

DCS has teamed up with local clothing brand Imperial Motion to bring you this even and you know with our powers combined everyone is in for an epic night. The An& Brand | Roots

Our roots are nestled in the hills of Central New York. To call this area paradise would be an overstatement. To say it is miserable would be an understatement. While there are some clear disadvantages to growing up in this area, there is also a lot to be said about the kind of culture it provides for those with the motivation to grow beyond it.

The hill that we grew up skiing is Toggenburg, in Fabius, NY. This was our stomping grounds through our high school years, and we've maintained a strong connection with the resort even since moving away. It's the kind of place where your friend drives the groomer and you can have a hefty amount of input when it comes to building a park.

It's also the kind of place that will listen to the riders and give all they can to keep them stoked. For this reason, it is also the place where An& started hosting annual events. In the fall, we help to put on Hay Bails and Grind Rails, an event that showcases a handful of the season's latest films and hosts the area's first rail jam of the year. In the Spring, we host the Toggenburg Takeover, an event where we design a couple of unique features that encourage riders to get creative with their tricks.

We've been based out of Burlington, VT for the last four years. During our college years in VT, we continued to push our skiing and learn more about the industry. We were strongly influenced by the vintage, handcrafted, and hardworking mentality that runs deep in Vermont culture. Equally important were the other brands in the area that taught us what not to do. With these forces around us, we developed our belief that a brand should be able to stand behind its products 100%, and that the only true way to do this is to be fully involved in their creation.
